Testimonials I have been a member at the Dyke for nearly 20 years. It is by far the best golf club in the Brighton area. The course offers many challenges with subtle breaking greens and well placed bunkers. The well-draining land offers quality golf all year with some of the best views in the county of Sussex. All the staff at the club work hard to make sure that coming to the club is an enjoyable experience whether you are a member or a visitor. | Having joined the Dyke in May, my first few rounds were absolute shockers. I found the course very demanding. A combination of the rough, the variable wind, or the challenging greens (which are much quicker than what I was accustomed to) were proving too much for me. Some of my rounds were fairly horrendous, and I was sincerely hoping not to disturb the rounds of the guys that I'd joined up with. However, after meeting up with several guys just through turning up on a Saturday morning, or bumping into fella's on the tee, I never got any feedback other than positive encouragement and genuine support. I managed to figure out from talking to and watching these members how to pick my way around the course, sometimes in tough wind conditions. I was given great advice and some very kind help. I also had a couple of lessons with Brad which were of tremendous help. My handicap has come down, and I'm just about managing to finish the round with the same ball I started with (mostly). I'm delighted that I've joined the Dyke and I'm thoroughly enjoying golf at the moment, whether it's in the comps, playing with some of the guys I've built a regular round with, or meeting members on the tee. I'm looking forward to the spring so I can get out more, and hopefully get the handicap down. Many thanks to all the members and the staff, upstairs and downstairs, who have been so kind.
